RC Helicopters with on-board video camera are a recent development driven by the increased interest shown by people in inexpensive remote-controlled helicopters. They are basically spy gadgets that work and look more or less like the average RC mini helicopter, with the addition that they incorporate a small video camera and tend to be noiseless. Normally, a RC helicopter with camera is slightly more expensive than an standard, entry-level model.
Air Hogs Hawk Eye Channel B
This model is designed for both indoors and outdoors, though it tends to perform considerably better when flown indoors. The camera is decent and will record proper video, but don’t get your hopes too high for after all this is an entry-level model. The battery can power up the motor for up to 4 minutes, while requiring 25 to 30 minutes for a full charge. The video can be copied to a computer via a USB cable after the flight ends. All in all, this model offers good performance for its price.
Air Hogs Hawk Eye Channel A
If you’re familiar with other similar Air Hogs products, then you’ll recognize the characteristic design and to some extent the common features of the range in the Hawk Eye Channel A. The camera is decent, being able to capture both video and pictures at a 640 x 480 resolution. The good thing about this model is that it’s well put together: it can withstands a lot of damage without much problem. The remote control is based on infra-red technology and, though most of the time working alright, it can make control seem awkward at times, especially if you’re not used to handling such as toy.

|Amazon Price: $71.09|
The Air Hogs Hawk Eye is capable of capturing full color videos and images that are of surprisingly good quality for its price. It comes bundled with a small editing software which, though not great, is useful. Like all RC helicopters, it takes some time before you get used to its control, during which many crashes are likely to occur. Fortunately, the Air Hogs Hawk Eye doesn’t get damaged easily (assuming you don’t think much of a few scratches here and there). All in all, this model is one of the best in the Hawk Eye series and it’s a good pick for both children and adults wanting to play at spying.
